Historically, geographically, linguistacally & culturally as of now Awadh capsizes 15 districts[i.e. Lakhimpur, Hardoi, Sitapur, Bahraich, Unnao, Lucknow, Barabanki, Gonda, Shravasti, Balrampur, Rae-Bareilly, Sultanpur, Faizabad, Pratapgarh, Ambedkar Nagar(Akbarpur) and parts of Lower Doab Districts which are above river Ganga] while Lower Doab consists of 10 districs[i.e. Mainpuri, Farrukhabad, Etawah, Kannauj, Auraiya, Kanpur(rural & urban), Fatehpur, Kaushambi & Allabhad(doab area)].

This makes Central UP a 25 district strong entity.
